How do I upgrade from a previous version to Family Book Creator 2019?

Family Book Creator 2019 is the latest major release of Family Book Creator. It is compatible with Family Tree Maker 2017 and Family Tree Maker 2019 on Windows. Do I have to pay for the upgrade?

Family Book Creator users who purchased a license for Family Book Creator in 2019 or 2020 are entitled to get the upgrade for free. For users who purchased a license before January 2019 the upgrade fee is 50% of the standard product price.

In order to upgrade please download and install Family Book Creator 2019 on a computer with an activated copy of your previous Family Book Creator edition. When you launch Family Book Creator 2019 your existing license information will be validated and, if your license was purchased in 2019 or 2020, your copy of Family Book Creator 2019 will be automatically activated, because the serial number you are using is valid for Family Book Creator 2019 as well!
Upgrade your existing installation and get 50% off
To take advantage of the 50%-off deal, you need to install Family Book Creator 2019 on a computer with an activated copy of any previous Family Book Creator edition. When you launch Family Book Creator 2019, your existing license information will be validated and, if you have a pre-January 2019 issued serial number, the 'Welcome' dialog box will appear with an 'Order Upgrade' button, which allows you to order a new license for Family Book Creator 2019 at a 50% discount. If you are not ready to upgrade now, you may use the trial edition to explore the latest release while you decide.

Note: The latest update for Family Book Creator 2017 is a free maintenance release, which includes multiple improvements and fixes and also makes the product compatible with Family Tree Maker 2019 on Windows.

Do I need to keep the old version on my computer?

No. After you have successfully upgraded to the latest release there is no need to keep previous versions. You can safely uninstall your old edition.
